A 30 year veteran in the halls of Congress, Chris Smith has been a “rock” for the unborn. Americans United for Life honored him this past week with the 2012 Henry J. Hyde Defender of Life Award for his leadership on pro-life issues in the House of Representatives.
After graduating with a B.A. from the College of New Jersey, Chris Smith became executive director of the New Jersey Right To Life Committee. He won his congressional seat in 1980 and has held that position ever since. Smith is one of the strongest pro-life proponents in either house of Congress.
